Goodbye – From Burkina Faso (VIDEO)

post by Daniel Kolenda on January 30th, 2012

Our Gospel Campaign in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, is now over. Hundreds of thousands responded to the call for salvation, many wonderful miracles took place, and the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the multitudes. We are rejoicing! I am just about to meet with some of the local pastors and government officials and soon I will be headed home. But before I go I wanted to share this special video message with you from the field last night. Thank you again for all the prayer and love.

What is greater…Evangelism or Worship?

May 28th, 2010

Someone once posed the question to me; “What is greater…Evangelism or Worship?” They believed that worship was greater because through evangelism we minister to one another, but through worship we minister to God. As a former worship pastor I have thought about this a lot.

I have often said that the true depth of Christian’s spirituality is not determined by how enthusiastically they dance during the worship service or how loudly they sing. As much as I love modern music I must confess…pulsating rhythms, flashing lights and smoke machines are not worship (this applies to pipe organs, choirs and hymns as well). All of these things are but tools we use in an attempt to provoke worship. Unfortunately, often they are more of a distraction than anything and if you could escape their clatter for a moment and truly become intimate enough with God to draw near and lay your head on his chest and hear his heartbeat, this is what it would sound like: SAL-VA-TION, SAL-VA-TION, SAL-VA-TION. God loves the world SO MUCH that He gave His only begotten Son. Could there be a more ardent exclamation of God’s deepest desire?…..(Continued)

A Dangerous Prayer – “Disturb us Lord”

May 26th, 2010

I’ve just arrived in Singapore and very jet-lagged, but I thought I would quickly post this 15th century poem by Sir Francis Drake…a dangerous prayer to pray…

Disturb us Lord,
When we are too pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore…….(Continued)

Hallelujah…You Have Won!

April 12th, 2009

The final night of our meetings here in the Singapore Indoor Stadium was indeed a Grand Finale. The “Planet Shakers” group from Australia opened the meeting with high praise and world-class musical excellence. The crowd was enraptured as thousands of voices filled the stadium…

Good News Singapore

April 11th, 2009

Tonight was the second of two incredible nights of the “Good News Singapore” campaign in the Singapore indoor arena. The stadium was packed, Evangelist Bonnke preached the Gospel with authority; the altars were flooded, and miracles were popping up everywhere. One lady said tonight, “We have never seen anything like this in Singapore.” Tomorrow morning, the Planet Shakers band will join us, and then we have one final crusade meeting tomorrow night.
